In 1970 we began Demeter certification of UK Biodynamic farmers & growers. In the 1990s we gained approval from the government to certify to the new EU Organic standards.<\/p>\n
Since then we have continued to certify both Organic and Demeter producers, processors and traders.<\/p>\n
BDA Certification now certifies over 300 licensees, we are incredibly proud to support a wide range of pioneering, innovative enterprises who are setting the standard for sustainable and regenerative food production.<\/p>\n

Demeter UK & BDA Organic Certified Food Producers – Open Food Network<\/a><\/p>\n We are a small team of dedicated individuals, all with a passion for good farming and good food. Our staff body, from our hand picked inspectors to our certification, project and technical officers are all experts in organic and Demeter standards and have a thorough understanding of the principles they represent. We pride ourselves on understanding the challenges you face, encouraging and supporting you and your business to develop according to your vision and aims, while at the same time maintaining the robust integrity that is vital to our standards. Our administrator is at hand to answer general queries or to point you in the right direction and you will also be\u00a0working with a dedicated certification officer providing a consistent point of contact for any questions you have.<\/p>\n BDA Certification is a department within the Biodynamic Association. Our members are entitled to work with the Biodynamic Association to receive farm services advisory support, and help with finding markets for their Organic and Demeter products.<\/p>\n About half our members choose organic certification with us allowing the use of both our organic logo, and the EU leaf logo. We are an approved UK certification body, our code issued by DEFRA is GB-ORG-06.<\/p>\n Our organic standards are based on Retained UK Regulation (EC) No. 834\/2007, (EC) No. 889\/2008, (EC) No. 1235\/2008<\/p>\n Over half of our members are certified Biodynamic and can use the highly respected Demeter trademark. Meeting the organic standards is a prerequisite\u00a0 for the higher Demeter standards.
